the cakes are very good - one of our friends have one and it was lovely but the icing wasn't as perfect as an expensive cake could be.

The one thing I would say though is that if you are going to get one make sure that you collect it at least 1 day in advance of your wedding day - as the delivery of them can (very rarely) be affected i.e vehicle breakdown. They will always make sure that they get your cake but obviously if you order it for collection on the day there is not much they can do.

i think with regards to the icing etc not being quite perfect, cakes being lopsided etc, it depends on how you are going to display them as to how obvious it will be. I know a friend of mine posted a facebook pic of a m&s cake she had been asked to decorate (she makes cakes for a living and did it as a favour) she showed the differences between an M&S cake and a traditional cake made by a cake maker. I will see if I can find a pic and post it.

Just had my wedding last Thursday with an M&S cake
the fruit one was lovely, not tucked into the sponge one yet.

    BUT they are small.
    really small.

we used flowers from the range and the blocks to make it look bigger.

Thanks everyone! We'll need to get it a few days earlier anyway, my friend is doing the sugar leaves for the cake so I'll need to take it over to her house in plenty of time.

    Mupette, your cake looks gorgeous!

I've tasted an M&S wedding cake and it was gorgeous! The couple only spent around £200 on it too (3 layers with about 100 slices - I think). Beautiful tasting cake, would definitely recommend.
