Hi, this is my first ever post!
Me and my partner graduated from university a year ago and have just bought our first home.
I was desperate to move out of our local city so we bought a two bedroom flat in a nice little village near by.
When I went to view the flat I fell in love with it straight away, but when I picked up the keys like week my heart sank and I realised that I really didn't like the place at all.
Our original plan was only to live in this place for 3 years before buying something more permanent and more suitable for starting a family in, now I want to move sooner.
Any suggestions?

How many times did you view the place before you offered/exchanged?
Why don't you like it?0 -
we went to view it twice.
It just seems to small and impractical, it is nicely decorated though and doesnt need much doing to it.0 -
You really have only two options.
1. Learn to like it and live in it.
2. Sell it, making a definite loss on your agent's and solicitor's fees, and potentially a loss on the sale price as well.

This may not be financially viable, but you could rent it out and buy somewhere else..You were only killing time and it'll kill you right back0

Your best option is to follow this original plan. You may be able to shorten the timescale a bit but you need to just get on with it or face a considerable cost.
Three years will pass more quickly than you imagine.:)0 -
Has the flat shunk since you viewed it??"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

You were probably so excited about the thought of buying a place - you just took the first one to come along! Give it a bit longer, you never know, you might fall back in love with it. Try to put some of your own style on it - so it doesn't feel like your camping out. It's YOURS after all!0

When you say `JUST bought a house` how long have you been there?
It took me a good year to fall in love with my new home, I felt very uneasy in it when we moved in and it just didnt feel like home at all.DebtFree FEB 2010!Slight blip in 2013 - Debtfree Aug 2014 :j

We've been in about a week now, perhaps it just doesnt feel like home yet.0 -

Interesting. I felt rather like that about my first house. I grew to like it though. The other three I've bought have felt like home since the moment I walked in on the first viewing. I wouldn't buy now if I didn't get that feeling.0
