DIY fixing Triton Combi HP shower?

Hoping someone can help me with this!
I have a Triton Combi HP installed. It worked fine but then started having random temperatures that were difficult to control and now it only gives cold water. The dial that allows you to choose the water temperature twists all the way around like something has broken. It hasn't been used properly for a couple of years now but I am thinking I can probably fix it -does anyone know what I need to do? I have an inkling that the bit inside which allows you to set the min and max temps has broken.
