Recycling storage heater bricks
There appears to have been some vague discussion on this a while ago (now closed) but as I'm a late-comer I wonder if anyone can help me with this: I'm going to build a brick oven in my garden (for pizzas, bread, etc) and I've found a load of redundant storage heater bricks. Are there any problems using the bricks either for the base (cooking surface) of the oven or in constructing the dome, or both even? Seems a shame to waste the bricks but I wouldn't want to jeopardise the oven, or the baked contents! Thanks

Sounds a great idea.....though don't know the answer to your question. We used the bricks out of our storage heater to edge a newly dug pond. They looked a bit 'new' to start with, but they're now moss-covered & look great. Agree too good a potential resource to waste.2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
2) To read 50 books (5/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg0
