It was reading money saving that first got me thinking about contacting the British Legion for financial advise so thnk you to all the lovely members who post regularly about thier experiences and who look after us newbies. Well I'm almost at the end of filling in my SOA forms and what a pain they turned out to be. Since separation last year I've been living with my mother along with my two boys who are with me half the time. My mothers been a gem taking little money off me while I tried to stay afloat. Being self employed these days is just a recipe for disaster. Now I've decided to pull the plug after 22 years, register unemployed and go bankrupt. Obviously I'll now be in a position to pay my way (I've been living on virtually no money for months so bankruptcy amazingly should make things easier). The problems been what to put on the form. I have ceased trading so no wages to show. Just applied for Jobseekers but no money coming in there as yet, virtually no outgoings for normal expenditure for the last few months showing from my bank account and I'm going to start paying for much more now my debts have been taken off my hands. dreading the O.R phone call trying to explain this mess.

    Hi logiman

I can't give you any advice I'm afraid, as I'm just a visitor here, but why not start a new thread? I'm sure you'll get lots of advice and I think there are some threads here which may help you.

    Good luck
