Can anyone recommend a 4gb pen drive, that has a high write speed? I purchased a 4gb freecom databar and its painfully slow. What speed is meant to be fast with these pen drives?
Thanks
Thanks

upto 8mb/sec read and 7mb/sec write is what you should be looking for, something like

Any advice that you receive from me is worth exactly what you paid for it. Not a penny more or a penny less.0 -
That is weird cos my freecom databar is meant to be:
8MB/s max. (read) / 7MB/s max. (write)
so I have no idea why its so slow!
I have reformatted the drive a few times but its still slow when i try and put files on it."He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,

Are you using it in a USB 2 port? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

I would recommend a 4GB Transcend high speed from eBay. Read: 10-12Mb/sec & Write: 8Mb/sec.
I purchased a 2Gb one a few days ago for ~£11 delivered, & it's almost twice as quick compared to my other 'standard' branded pen drive. It's tiny & the quality is excellent too with some nice features. See the Transcend website for more details.

Btw, if you are transferring many small files (e.g. bookmarks/URLs) it will always be relatively slow. It took 6 mins to copy 4000 bookmarks (10 mins with the older one), but a 30Mb file copies in just 3-4 secs. G0 -
I've always like the Corsair Flash Voyager drives, now up to 16 GB! Here are some Froogle prices (note how variable they are - you can get a 16 GB one for ~£82+p&p...)

Last time I checked, the OCZ Rally 2 was the fastest:

How about this one? It's a Samsung 4GB drive..I bought it a few months ago for about £30. Now £17.99.
Super fast read/write transfer @ up to 153x (23 MB/s!) with USB 2.0.
