Hello all,
A couple of weeks ago I asked about people's experiences with Homelet. My husband and I found a house yesterday and we have made an application. Because I was absolutely bricking it I asked them to do the credit search on me immediately under my nose so I could see if I got declined. And low and behold - I got accepted JUST (1 point over the acceptance criteria) but will need a guarantor. My husband's credit is good but he doesn't earn enough so we have got my mum and his dad to be our guarantors as their income both combines over £30k and my dad is not currently working due to spondylosis of the spine and his mum is retired.
One thing that did flash up is that I have apparently been known at other addresses in the last three years. But when I cleared up my credit report last year to check all the credit files were showing as satisfied post bankruptcy discharge nothing was on there and I haven't moved at all. Bit confused and concerned - doesn't make sense as I got approved a credit card last year and have had a limit increase on it so something must be going okay.
Am still bricking it that something will go wrong - my husband and my mum and dad all tell me to stop worrying as I would have been the spanner in the works and I got accepted with guarantor - but I've just absolutely fallen in love with the house and I think because I've had such bad experiences in the last few years I almost can't believe that something might be going right for me and my husband for a change.
Just looking for some friendly words and reassurance and also to tell other ex-bankrupts not to give up. Things aren't straight forward unfortunately but there are ways around things. I think! (She says, hoping the house references will be agreed!)

If there is any information on your credit files which is incorrect write to Experian/Equifax/Callcredit and query it. Get it corrected.
Deal with it in writing and keep copies of your letters0
