Mereway Kitchens Cost

Hi everyone!

We are finally getting round to redoing the kitchen, and one kitchen brand I see creeping up again and again is Mereway. From what I understand, they supply John Lewis and lots of other shops in the UK. I have drooled over JL kitchens for a good year now but certainly not the price - perhaps (hopefully) they have a large mark up?

Now, we don't have a huge budget, but I am keen to get value for money and something that will last longer than 10 years (if we wanted it/needed it to), so would like to get the most solid kitchen we can.

I cannot find any ballpark figures on the internet from real people for mereway (or these kitchens rebranded), nor can I find the estimated costs for a standard 8 unit kitchen for comparison sakes. So, if you have had a mereway kitchen installed - are you happy with it, and if you don't mind me asking, roughly how much did you pay for it?

Thank you in advance :)

M x

You can do a lot better than Mereway. IMHO, Mereway offer rather poor value for money.

TBH, there is no such thing as a standard 8 unit kitchen so it would be better to seek out a competent local independent you are happy to work with and get the kitchen designed first. You can then compare prices for the layout and finishes of your choice.

Thanks for this. Are there any makes you would recommend to keep an eye out for?

If you contact our Mereway head office on 0800 028 4466, we can recommend a selection of good independent retailers that would be happy to provide a no obligation quotation based on your budget, we have ranges that cater for different budgets.

If you're looking for a quality kitchen that's planned and fitted well that will last you then our product is right for you. We do offer excellent value for money, as a British manufacturer we use the very best in materials and components, making robust, rigid cabinets with colour coordinated interiors that are built to last and covered under guarantee. Our showrooms offer a personal, quality service from start to finish, all aspects that you're not likely to get from the DIY sheds.

    We hope you contact us.

I love my Mereway kitchen and have found it to be of excellent quality. If you do decide to look into Mereway, then definitely try one of the independent suppliers, rather than John Lewis as the price is so much better.

I used Wentworth Kitchens and was delighted with the service and workmanship, but there are other suppliers also.

There are a number of companies online offering Mereway kitchens. No showrooms on line but they all provide a design service and if you buy then Mereway deliver them direct. Its certainly a lot cheaper than the John Lewis option and probably cheaper than going to the studios. I know Alaris well but there are others. Search Alaris on Google or just Mereway kitchens and see who comes up.
  • We had a quote from JL - and it was frightening. Identified the units as the Cucina Colore range by Mereway and got a quote from an 'independent' supplier and it was about £5000 less, but still scary. Way out of our budget.

I found a company called Alaris Avenue, based in Aberdeen, but they can have it delivered anywhere. We've just placed an order and the kitchen was about 5k less than the independent and the Silestone work surface was half the price of JL and about £1500 less than the independent.
We've got an excellent local joiner/kitchen fitter, so I can't wait to get it installed.

    Hope this info helps someone!
