Crikey ... my most recent laptop (an Atom based netbook) cost me just £220. And it's plenty fast enough. It runs Fedora with KDE just fine.

Does everything I need and most importantly it's small, light, and highly portable which I need because I make many business trips abroad. Several of which are to Australia :D

I don't think I would ever spend more than £500 on a laptop these days. Never mind one that cost me 3.5 months worth of savings!
