0% Credit Card for MacBook Pro Retina Display advice please

Options
Hi All

I need advice on getting a 0% credit card over 18 months so I can buy the MacBook pro Retina.

I would just go into pcworld and do it but then I wouldn't get the student discount that my mate can get on Apple's website.

Any recommendations please?

Many thanks

Not sure it would work as wouldn't the name of the student discount have to be the same as the cardholder?

Trust me it will. My mate has figured out how to do it without being one.

    Okie dokie!

In that case you need to be looking for a card that has a long term 0% PURCHASE offer.

Are you sure a MacBook is for you? You don't appear to have the money or the brainpower required to run it!!

The apr is for after the 0% deal is up. If you were to go for a card that had a 15mth deal, then as long as you made at least the minimum payment every mth and on time, then whatever you had purchased would be interest free. At the end of the 15mths (or however long your deal was for) then if you hadn't paid off the entire balance in full, you would then be charged interest on whatever remained.
The length of time on your deal is from when the account is opened, not when you make your purchase.

That's not very helpful is it.

Mildred I work in IT second line just not clued with the financial stuff and that doesn't make me dumb. Shows how mature you are.

I never needed a credit card or any sort of finance always pay full amount from out of my pocket. I splashed out on a brand new card recently, yes all cash, and don't want to spend another 2000 on a MacBook so would prefer to spread the cost.

I know what apr is what I meant to say was ''why does it still say 15.9% apr''.

Thanks jo bo and DK for clarifying and for your prompt responses, I'm very grateful.
