So should we run around in circles yelling that the house is falling down?

Does EU membership cause ceilings to break and crash in? Or concrete fatigue? Or bricks to crumble?

    Maybe I'm missing something....

Oh, do you suppose the OP meant 'bring house PRICES down'....

    Why didn't he say so?

And do you know, I thought MSE Martin had ever so kindly provided a separate board for discussion of house prices.

Might be promotional UKIP stuff but everyone and there dog should know the Eurozone is doomed unless they agree to some pretty fundamental changes in pretty quick order....

This means Germany underwriting the economies of the poorer nations.

Amongst the sticking points however is the fact that Greeks get to retire from 55 whilst Germans have to wait till they are 65, understandably they question the fact as to why they have to pay for this. The Greeks as it would appear are not keen to compromise.
This is just one of many, many problems they will have to overcome before Germany will agree to closer fiscal union.

Time is running out Spain is on the rack and is too big to be bailed.

And some second-time buyers - like me. When I retire my plan is to be able to buy for cash, do any work needed on the new place, move all my clobber at my leisure, THEN tidy up and sell the current one to replenish my savings. OK, I will almost certainly pay more in conveyancing fees but I'd rather do that than try and sort both transactions and the move all on the same day several hundred miles apart.
My available cash will be limited to how my investments do, so lower (or flat) prices over the next 5-6 years would be very handy ;)

The way I look at it is that opted for the Euro have had the good times and should stick with it through bad.

I think the richer nations are morally obliged to bail out the poorer ones. After all it was dreamed up by the richer nations at it was then that persuaded the poorer nations to join in. Indeed, the richer nations bent the rules so they could include the poorer nations.

Personally, I considered it a stupid idea from the start.

PS: I heard today that even CHINA are putting in money to support the Euro; the slide of the Euro is having an adverse effect on the Chinese economy as Europe isn't buying as much Chinese product.
