£20k short term investment / monthly interest

Hi,

Looking to invest £20k in savings account, but want to keep separate to ISA. Want an account that will accept a deposit of the full amount and pays interest monthly as may need access to the cash in 6 months.

I've seen the Santander eSaver 3.2%. If I chose to recieve the interest monthly, how is it broken down and how much could I expect to recieve per month? Any other suggestions welcome thanks.

Comments

  • I am a bit confused - you can access the cash within 6 months even on an annual interest account. If you close a Santander account after 6 months they will give you the interest (inc bonus) for the 6 months
  • Check out the T&C's on whatever you choose (use a comparison site as a start) - a lot of savings accounts will pay monthly interest, but watch out for the number of withdrawls allowed before penalties occur.
