Portman unanswered questions

Despite previous assertions that former Lambeth members would be eligible for the Portman-Nationwide merger bonus, the full merger details (received in the post today) do not appear to confirm or clarify this point. If anything, they seem to indicate that they will not be eligible.

Have I just missed an appropriate sentence somewhere ?

I don't know. But your board has previously written to you to confirm your eligibility so there's nothing to worry about.

The leaflet on the merger bonus from Portman & Lambeth (sent out in Oct 06) said that 'Portman members who were previously members of Lambeth will receive a merger bonus in respect of the merger between Portman and Nationwide if they meet the qualifying criteria' (mainly a savings or mortgage balance of £100 on 11 Sep 06, and held till a 'future date').

lambeth takeover was completed after 11th september 2006 so lambeth members would have needed to have had a portman account with 100.00 min balance on 11th september in order to be a "qualifying member"
