Has anyone been to Aruba

I'm thinking of booking a holiday in Aruba at the Tamarijn this August. I'll be travelling with two teenagers 17 and 15. Has anyone been to this hotel or Aruba, especially in August. Is there enough for 2 energetic teenagers to do day and night? Is it too windy/too hot?

Also considering Mexico but the holidays seem to be disappearing quickly. Maybe something to do with the British weather?

thanks

I've been to Aruba a couple of times, staying at the Rui Palace on Palm Beach.
It does get hot so the breeze is nice and cooling. You are outside of the hurricane belt, so you should avoid any effects from them.
As for things to do, apart from the beaches, there is snorkelling, boat trips, island tours etc. Being a Caribbean island, there is a relaxed way of life, so don't expect outragous nightlife. It is also very safe to walk about.
Mexico will have more activites, but Aruba is perfect for a relaxing holiday

Im not sure August is a good time to go to Mexico I think it would possibly be end of hurricane season? My parents have been to Aruba they liked it. They said it was very 'honeymooney' though.

My parents have been to Aruba twice and love it there, they celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary there last year. They went to one of the Rui hotels, can't remember exactly which one but they loved the laid back style of the island and couldn't praise their hotel and the staff enough.

As for Mexico, we went last year at the end of July/beginning of August and we had a day of drizzly rain, which we spent in the pool :D and a couple of nights with intermittent heavy rain, the rest of our 10 days were perfect. It was very hot though but being able to spend most of our time in the pool really helped.

Mexico is in the hurricane belt so the summer months are a risk but I would go back again at that time of year.
