Outside tap - help

Hi all. Just signed up and after some simple advice. A few years ago my brother plumbed my washing machine into my garage so I could fit a dishwasher in its space in my kitchen. He took out my outside tap and used its hole in the wall to run piping through which was fine. I have got rid of my dishwasher now and would like to fit an outside tap again. Should be simple right?
My question is this- what do I need? I have copper pipe through my kitchen wall with plastic piping to the garage. Do I need to cut the copper pipe flush to the kitchen wall? If so what do I need to fit the tap to the newly cut copper pipe?
I'm probably been very thick, could someone advise? Thanks in advance people

You will need to fit an isolating valve and non return valve (double check valve) on the water pipe in the kitchen, then buy a wall plate that the pipe through the wall will fit to, at 90d to the pipe coming out of the wall, so you will need an elbow off the pipe as it comes out of the wall.

    Thankyou gas4you
All the valves etc are still in place in the kitchen. It's what I need for the outside wall I'm curious about. At the moment I have copper pipe flush to the brickwork. Does that make sense??

Yes. You need to fix an elbow onto the existing pipe, then add a short length of copper from this into the wall plate that the outside tap will screw into,

Failing that you could just use a 15mm 'street elbow' straight into the wall plate.

just cut the pipe back as close as you can to where it comes out the wall ( to prevent freezing) buy a compression back plate elbow & a double check valve outside tap ( the check valve is within the tap) & a roll of ptfe to seal the thread on the tap.
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

Outside taps with double check valves inside are not allowed for new installations, only when replacing like for like.
