Family coming on leave from abroad: car needed

There are five of then incl. kids under 13. Father has been working in Africa on a contract and they are coming on leave. They will have luggage to transport as they visit family and friends, so a MPV or good capacity car looks best for then and it must have an auto box.

They will need it for a maximum of 38 days.

Can anyone give suggestions and links to useful sites how they can get a good deal, please? Or other useful advice ?

Why must it have an automatic gearbox?

Autos are very expensive to hire - upto double the price of a manual.

Just buy one and then sell it when they leave. Would probably work out cheaper than hire.

There's plenty of place that will do a short term lease for that time, not sure of the companies, but try the internet, googling short term car lease. There could be restrictions on mileage etc, but you should be okay.

Accident 13 years ago that has contuning effect on backs etc.
