Lazy Sellers, Not checking what they sell.

Been on a bit of a buying spree lately. So i guess 3 not so happy transactions is not a lot.
1st Seller, Bought some safety glasses to be used when grinding and power tools etc. Listing shows a proper photo and all the correct safety information.
When the items arrive the safety markings are missing and the label says suitable for hand sanding and not suitable for power tools.
I suspect a drop shipper, Who didnt properly check the actual item he was buying/selling.
Seller 2, Some machine tools. Not the same item as the photo in the listing. But its not the same item as the picture on the packaging either so i guess thats easy to miss. Doesnt change the fact it wont fit inside the piece i need to make.
Seller 3, More machine tools. I ordered 150mm, They send me 100mm.
Invoice says 100mm, I thought damn i ordered the wrong ones, Double check. No the listing is for 150mm.
Seller 1, Sorted quickly.
Seller 2 I only emailed on friday and they replied saturday saying they had not noticed the change in design, And to return it it i dont want it.
Listing says buyer pays postage. £2 - £3 to get £6 back? Is it worth it?
Only just contacted Seller 3 so wont know for a few days. But this ones heavy. Over 1kg with packaging.
So i guess thats 1st class recorded. £6.55 Another one that says buyer pays return postage.
Pitfalls of ebay eh.

If seller 2 and 3 ar businesses they need to cover the return postage although I agree that eBay does not often comply with the law.0

With seller three there is always https://www.interparcel.com or https://www.myhermes.co.uk or https://www.collectplus.co.uk0

£4.99 + vat from my hermes. Seems 1kg or 2kg jumps nothing inbetween.
Or is that because its a rough guide price?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
No, that is their actual pricing annoyingly. Try https://www.parcel2go.com.com, sometimes they offer Hermes at a cheaper price
If it's £4.99 plus VAT you're better off with https://www.collectplus.co.uk, who offer upto 5kg £4.99 inc VAT0 -

they cant expect you to pay if they sent you the wrong item.WWSD(what would Scooby Doo)0 -
Will wait and see i guess, Wonder how much profit they have in a £20 delivered to me item? If postage is about £5 ?
Have the seller collect the item may leave me open to them ignoring me from there on i guess.
OK i was just about to say maybe im thinking the worst, Just checked their feedback as i typed this and several people have had to open disputes for items not received and lack of communication from the seller.
99.6%. A few saying they dont respond to issues.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Non-response would have had me pressing the back button - if they were not selling must-have one of a kinds.
In what I buy, there's very little that can go wrong, and I'm happy to put up with a small amount of grafitti in otherwise necessary books. However, if it matters an awful lot to me about the quality of the goods, that sort of feedback would give me pause for thought.
Firstly it shows that there are issues; and secondly it shows that the seller can't be bothered about their legal obligations; not a winning combination.
As for the profit margin...that's between them and their bank balance. If they sell in any volume at all, they may have a bulk postage rate which a buyer does not get for a once-off return - which, I agree, makes the situation even more lop-sided and frustrating."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

Seller 2, Not got back to them as yet. Still undecided. Will i use these ones in the future?
Seller 3, Took a couple of days but offered to refund or replace with the correct ones and would send postage to return the ones i have.
I said if they were a good price i would keep them. Probably be useful in the future.
Heard nothing then got a phone call, He thought i wanted these instead. I said give me a good price i will pay for them, But i still need the original ones i ordered.
Gave me a dicount and sold me loads more stuff. So a simple mistake has actually made him a rather decent profit i assume.
Damn.
So all good, Except im now skint
Hope they come when er indoors is out.
Wonder if she will fall for the new celebrity diet, 1 tin of beans a day
