Have never noticed the P&O Getaway Price before. It must be a new marketing phrase in an attempt to drum-up ailing sales.

I think they have been doing it(or similar) for a while
    main feature
    100% payment on booking.
    100% cancellation
    lowest grade GTY.

These adult only ships are not subject to the family price pressure

The market for adults that are only able to cruise school hols is smaller.

You can't use V2G to check UK prices

Not on P&O, no - which I did state in my first post.

But on most other lines you can book with the US agent and save a fortune.

UK cruisers always get charged way more than US passengers so it makes sense to book in the US.

I wouldn't cruise with P&O simply due to their company policy of forcing UK customers to overpay.
  • If that is a quote don't mess about, buy it quick. Nobody will beat that - are you sure you're got the real price.

Yep, that was the real price.

It was even more real 5 days ago, at £50 per person less!

Booked at £1099 each,no response on the beat my quote pages

Well pleased with the deal, and help received here.

    Thanks.....David.

That is not true, you have to check UK, EU and US prices.
The sales and discounts vary at differnt times and some lines fix the prices at an exchange rate that changes to favour booking elsewhere.

You cannot use V2G to check the lowest international price on ANY line

I agree. I had a cruise booked with a US agent as it was cheaper than the UK at the time of booking. However in the NCL 7 day sale it is now £200 per person cheaper than it was at time of booking so I have cancelled and rebooked as the US price has remained the same.

    Hi GetMore

I dont think I said you could compare the US, EU, UK etc prices at V2G.

For that, you would use cruisefish.net

TBH, it's clear you favour UK agents (perhaps you are one, I dont know) BUT every cruise we've been on (11 so far) has worked out cheaper booking in the US.

I can only go on my own experience so I guess we'll just have to agree to dissagree.

Coupleuk, I would definately agree with you about P&O and all other Carnival Cruise companies. I avoid them as they attempt to restrict UK customers.

I would disagree with you that US agents are cheaper, this year and last a UK agent was significantly cheaper, maybe due to the falling exchange rate. Also recently a European Agent was offering a better deal than both the US and UK, pobably due to the decline of the Euro.

My advise is use the tools available, compare and choose the best deal to suit you. Deals fluctuate all the time!

    I don't favour any agents.

Problem is you made sweeping false generalization that the US is always cheaper, founded on what turns out to be very limited experience.

Pretty sure he is not an agent - just an avid cruiser like the rest of us - though he does seem to have a soft spot for NCL!

Thank you for the cruisefish link - I didn't know about it.
  • Hi

You make reference to booking with a us agent, how can you do this from Britain?

When ever i have tried you need to be a us citizen.

    Thanks
