Young driver insurance and ncd from bike to car

My son ( 18 next thursday ) has just passed his driving test and is now looking to find the cheapest insurance. He has been riding a motorbike on his own insurance and has been told that it may be able to go towards his ncd for his car. Does anyone know which insurance companies will xfer this ncd to his car and if not which companies are offering the best deals at the moment? I have also posted this question in motoring. Any help would be great as our best quote so far is £2400 with Asda.
Many thanks

Best thing to do is contact a local brokers and see what they can come up with. Many many years ago, when I was in this situation, I did not find it cheaper to transfer any NCB from bike Insurance over to Car Insurance. It depends on what gross premium the Insurers are charging and what intro discounts are on offer.
My first Car Insurance was through the Coop, as at the time, they offered the lowest premium, partly due to the introductory discount they offered at the time. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -
Thanks, I'm willing to try anything to get this horrendous cost down for him.

Tesco take bike NCD for car insurance (minimum 2 years)0

I'm afraid he only has one full year of ncd and although we were told that it would be taken against a future car quote, it seems that most insurers don't seem to take it into account.0

Have you spoken to direct line ? I have 6 years no claims on a letter sat in my draw from my biking history, I have been a named driver on our car since forever but I'm no longer a biker so looking to put them on a second car, I have always been told direct line accept motorcycle no claims on car insurance policies.0
