House insurance subsidence

Can anyone confirm for me on what is included in reinstatement as part of an insurance tree subsidence claim.
As a result of house movement due to a tree now cut down cracks have appeared and work is starting via the insurance company.
As electrical work has to be done I am not clear on what is covered. The electrics are 30 years old and therefore not complying with modern standards. Who pays for a new consumer unit and what is the obligation of the insurance company.
The only reason electrical work needs to be done is due to the tree subsidence claim ...
Equally with reinstatment - does this cover all redecoration work including skirting boards ...
Trying to understand what is covered under the insurance to ensure no out of pocket expenses apart from normal insurance excess??

Insurance will normally only cover anything directly related to the claim being made. It is possible that due to new regulations, the electrician may have to replace other parts and you will have to speak to the Insurers about this. I don't think they have to pay the whole cost for the extra work, but they may be prepared to make a contribution. You may have to pay towards what will be a position of betterment. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0

I am concerned by this as this may bring considerable extra expense on top of the excess and the work may have to be done i.e. fitting a new consumer board. I had hoped that as the electrics are directly affected that therefore any changes would be covered ...0

Speak to your Insurers about it. Suggest that you get some alternative quotes for the electrical work. Someone I know, had exactly the same problem and they managed to get all the work done within the amount the Insurers paid out.The comments I post are personal opinion. A lot of insurers will pay to bring things up to new building regs etc, even if its not like for like, it will say in your policy book.0
