Letting your property through the council

Hello everyone,

I need some advice. We would like to rent our flat through Lambeth council, but I googled it and read every single thread...I can't find anything about the process.

Housing Office is Metropolitain ( Clapham Park home) and again can't find anything online.

Ideally we wanted to rent our flat out by having the council managing it for us because having it managed by agencies cost quite a lot...and other council guarantee rent for 6 years. Unless you think not...

So if you have any information regarding this matter, we would be grateful.

    Don't do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You will likely find that the terms allow them to put the dregs in your property, you will probably get the place back in a trashed state and nothing you can do about it. I repeat

    DON'T DO IT

Have you seen this website re Lambeth Council and PRS LLs. This one only seems to mention managing the property yourself under an AST ( assured shorthold tenancy) as they have stopped using long term leasing arrangements.

Some LLs seem happy to take this route but my own views are, sadly, similar to those of Jamie11.

Why not simply contact the Council and ask for further information?
