But that's just if you take out extra cover, they still don't have a set time frame if it's repaired under warranty/SOGA.

Actually they do, though if its 3 or 4 years out it's not strict unlike 1st year, or WEH.

When my TV was repaired under warranty a few weeks back they didn't know how long it would take. I asked knowhow on the phone what the maximum time would be and they couldn't tell me just that they aim for a 10 day turn around but sometimes longer if they need parts.

I didn't mind being without it, it was only the small (32") one in the bedroom but it would be nice to be given a maximum time up front. It came back on day 13 so not too much of a wait.

How long exactly do they allow in the first year?

It was 28 days max before you're allowed to go into the shop and chose a replacement, it might be 21 days now. If you asked how long it would take they won't give a exact date (though some items you do get a return date when they are booked) but if you asked what the maximum timescale was they should of said 28/21.

Still 28 days under manufacturers warranty. Though I'd estimate that only about 5% of repairs take that long (and those are ones repaired directly by the manufacturer). To be fair, I cannot remember the last time a repair went over 28 days (except for those odd times when something gets sent back and hasn't been fixed)
    Squirrel!
If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
    Now 20% cooler

    28 Days under manufacturers warranty
21 Days under WEH Care Plan
7 Days under WEH Premier Care Plan

SOGA = Fair and reasonable time (no time set in stone)
