E-Mail small image - XP

I tend to take pictures at their highest resolution which creates a file about 1.5Mb in size. Via "My Pictures", etc, when I used to select one or more images, right click and select "Send to e-mail", XP used to offer the option of sending a small image file (attaching a file of about 54Kb per image) - mucho, mucho better. For some reason this does not now happen and I cannot find a way of turning it back on.
In the help it advises checking a setting to prompt for this but the pop-up box the online help refers to does not happen on my PC (it used to).
Any ideas / suggestions?
Thanks

you need to download the XP Image resizer powertoy
You can find it here

I may have that wrong though -the powertoy enables you to create a smaller version, which will be stored in the same folder - make sure you don;t use the "risze image without making a copy" option by misatake - I've never seen XP offer me the chance to resize an image when I attach it to a mail. I'll give it a go now.NBT : Notoriously Bad Typist0

well, I've never seen that before. as you describe (and I didn;t read!), when you right click an image and choose send to -> mail recipient, XP offers the option to resize the images.
A couple of minutes on google reveals this
