Creepy crawlies!

Hi there,
Not sure if this is the best place for this post - if appropriate, please can the moderators move it?
My OH recently moved into a new flat. A week or so ago we noticed some really strange looking creepy crawlies in the bathroom. They're tiny black things, a bit beetle like (roundish shaped bodies) but only about, say, 1 or 2 mm in length and seem to have white spots on their backs. Anyway they were disposed of (!!) and we thought nothing more of it.
But since then we've seen more in the bathroom and some in the living room too on the carpet where they seem to be dead.
Neither of us have seen anything like these critters before - does anyone know what they might be and if they're something to worry about?! Also how to get rid of them?
Many thanks in advance.
Regards,

I would put one in a jar and then take it to the vets. May sound strange but they sound like some kind of parasite and the vets know all about them.
The glass is always half full, no exceptions !!:D0 -

hey
might just end up being something you live with, i hate creepy crawlies but if you live in a tenement flat-style there's not much you can do about them. they run away when you turn on the light tho...! :rotfl: thats gross! but sadly true...
i notice a big difference in the bugs in my flat (ground floor with a garden at each side, greenery, trees and so on) and OH's flat, similar age (100+) and style (tenement) but surrounded by concrete. they are practically non-existent at his. maybe this could be a contributing factor?
PS eek look at that big picture of a bug!!!! :eek:why be a song, when you can be a symphony?0 -
Hi everyone,
Thanks for the helpful replies - this site is so amazing, I can find the answers to almost all of my questions no matter how bizarre!
Yes, they do indeed look quite like that carpet beetle thing - YUK!! Thanks for the link to the pestcontrol website, I think I'll be buying some of their products to exterminate these blighters.
Thanks again,
