Not sure of the price of the Samsungs but I would think they will be cheaper in HK. I was in the Apple store in HK and the cheapest iPad is $3888 which is around £320 so cheaper than the UK.

Been there, not entirely sure I would trust electronics retailers there but there is A LOT. The size of this mall has to be seen to be believed!

That's probably a fair point. I'd use MBK for a cheap disposable phone or MP3 player to use on my travels but maybe not for a more expensive purchase.

I just love the MBK mall - I've never seen so many stalls all crammed into one area all seemingly selling the same stuff.

Stay away would be my advice. However you should be able to purchase one tax free on your departure from a UK airport

You will probably find that Amazon.co.uk is almost exactly the same price as the duty free at the airport.

Another disadvantage with buying at the airport on your way out is that the goods bought will form part of your duty free entitlement when returning back to the UK.
This may not affect you, but if you are planning on bringing back a few hundred pounds worth of other goodies, may take you over your limit
