Hi I am newish to this !
Basically back in 2006 I started a claim to reclaim bank charges on two accounts with Barclays bank totalling around £2500 !
I had all the transactions and marked them sent off and my claim was put on hold due to high court case taking place on bank charges
As you well know the banks won and I got a letter back about each account saying basically because the banks won they won't be paying anything so I gave up and threw everything away !
Anyways after reading on this site recently about reclaiming bank charges and the fact that if you were in a cycle of being unable to get straight because of bank charges - which is the reason both Barclays accounts got in a mess. Can I try and reclaim again .?
I have no paper work regarding my first claim my questions are :
Shall I request a list of transactions again ?
Start the claim from new ?
Or write to Barclays saying that back in 2010 you refused my claim I wish to reopen it as part of the reason I incurred these charges is because you kept charging me and I couldn't get straight which forced me to use credit cards for cash and get in further debt !
Can some one advise me what route I should take ?
Thanks
Miss C

As you were informed at the time, "basically because the banks won they won't be paying anything "
Requesting the bank to re-open such a claim is pointless. They informed you of their decision. You have also missed the boat as far as the FOS is concerned - not that they would have helped you.
Your cause for complaint will still probably be on record, and any attempt to start a duplicate claim will probably simply refer you to the response given to the original claim.
You still have the option of legal action over the fees if you really want to pursue the matter further.
No one has won so far in your situation, but maybe you'll be the first.
Good luck and let us know how you get on.
Start your legal claim here if you wish to proceed:

Further advice on pursuing a legal claim is provided here by Martin and the best legal brains he could afford (and with a possible £87million available, that must be good!)
