Can anyone provide a link to a website or tell me what the difference is between what is expected from pupils at foundation and higher GCSE mathematics? I know that if they reach Level 5 at Key Stage 3 they will be entered for the higher level but any search or page I find is aimed at those who already know all the abbreviations and acronyms.

Hi pbradley936,
this might help you (from the qualifications and curriculum authority, who are in charge of everything)
http://www.qca.org.uk/downloads/qca-06-2645_changes_to_gcse_maths.pdf
The main change is that students predicted A-D would be entered for the higher and those predicted D-G would be entered for the foundation.
If you need more details of what is needed for a specific exam board, it's worth finding out which board you need and looking on their website. Many of them publish past papers online which can help you work out what sort of material you are likely to encounter in the exam.:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -

I know that link wasn't for me - but I found it really useful. Cheers
