i dont know about mk but the taylors ea branch in luton is the worst in the uk. i phoned to ask the price of a house and the guy wont tell me without taking my details, he said it was data protection????, i put down the phone and found the information on the internet where i didnt need to give my details. even if i wanted the house i wouldnt have bourght it, hate taylors.0 -
Taylors in MK are are actually pretty good from a sellers perspective, a relative recently bought a property in Milton Keynes. She was looking at the lower end of the spectrum, under 160k, Taylors were the most proactive and were ringing her with suggested properties far more often than other agents. That wasn't just due to them having more houses on their books as quite often I would spot something on Rightmove that was with an agent that she was registered with yet they hadn't called her to suggest it whereas Taylors did. On one viewing they sort of swept us along to another viewing of a close by house that there was no way we would have viewed looking at it on paper alone. As it turned out it wasn't quite right but there was more chance of us buying it after actually having seen it than when we dismissed it completely without even viewing it.
Some buyers might see their proactiveness as a drawback ie they don't want to be pestered by estate agents but as there wasn't actually a lot on the market that fitted my relatives criteria the proactiveness was appreciated. She ended up buying a house on with them and the estate agents were also very helpful when it came to renegotiating after a few issues arose.0 -
We had some valuations done recently. Found the guy from Haart to be a bit of a stereo type pushy agent. Michael Anthony and Carters a bit more sensible.
Milton Keynes has it's own different bits. There's new Milton Keynes, then there's Bletchley and then Stony Stratford and the villages around. Some of the agents will have long links in Bletchley and Stony but MK not so.0 -
Would recommend Carters - we used the Stony Stratford office so the recommendation is really specific to them. Realistic approach to valuation, decent comms through the process.0

Funny - my Mum once siad that she would sell through Taylors but not buy !! There's logic for you !
The reality is Taylors sell houses and are good at it - they are often accused of undervaluing but are more often than not just more realistic and much closer to the final sale price.
So OP it would also depend on the price bracket you are selling/buying in. Taylors tend to focus on the low to mid end stuff so if you're looking at high end go elsewhere.
My advice would be to look at the agents in the local area - some like Carters, Taylors, O'Riordan Bond, Connells etc have lots of offices dotted all around so specialise in places like Stony Stratford, Westcroft etc.0
