re-password change on aol

Hi Guys, had to phone aol tech advice line yesterday regarding router, and I had to change my password to a temporary one he gave me to sign on aol.(forgot old one), getting old;
Tried several times to change it, but keep getting dialogue box,
"cannot change because some other account member may be trying to do the same".
As I am the only one using pc, I,m confused, it, just says try later, now 24 hours since first p/w changed.
Could just carry on using aol,s but prefer my own.
Any hints would be grateful, don,t want to go on the roundabout again.to aol/tt.
