Hi all, I am regular viewer of the site and forums but first time poster ( i have had a search but am at a loss).
I’m so upset at the moment that any advice is welcomed. I am usually very good at watching which websites I use etc but have had a lapse of judgement which I’m hoping doesn’t cost me.
Nearly a month ago now I ordered a DVD set for my mother who literally jumped off the floor with delight when she it on this website as she has been looking for this box set for nearly a year. She wanted it so quickly we rushed to pay the £9.99 delivery fee even though we wanted to order more and could have got the free delivery deal. According to the FAQs on the website I explained to her that it would take around 7 days, also many of the excellent reviews also commented on the speed of the delivery. I order the DVD's on 26th May and we are nearly at a month later. I have previously, maybe one week; two weeks ago completed the Contact Us form on the website but have had no reply. So I searched the website for a phone number to no avail and found two email addresses. Both have given no response.
My dad was so happy we found the DVD set that he offered to use his credit card as a present for my mum. Now today my dad, after having a credit card for many years and hearing nothing, has had one of those fraud phone calls saying someone has been spending a lot of money on Itunes with my dad’s card but he doesn’t even have an account. The bank was very helpful and stopped his card straight away but deep in the pit of my stomach I feel like the two are connected. We are all so disappointed but have no idea where to start. When I log onto DVDrare my order states processing and clearly states that we have paid £72.
My dad has said not to worry but I am so angry this has happened, any advice on how to possibly get our money back?

I don't mean to upset you, but you may have difficulty getting the £72 refunded if the DVD's don't arrive.
As the value of the purchase was below £100, you can't use section 75 of the consumer credit act, so your only other option would be a credit card chargeback.
This involves the card company reclaiming the money from the retailer concerned, but this only works if they are still in business and have funds available.
Your best bet would be to get your dad to contact his card company as soon as possible and tell them about the problem and enquire about a chargeback.0 -
Dvdrare sell illegal bootlegs, so I'd be very surprised if you are covered at all.One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

Really sorry to hear what's happened. Hope you're not feeling guilty personally - you weren't to know, and you were doing someone a favour.
I don't know the programme you mention and I guess the 8 season box set is rare; Amazon have seasons 1 and 2.
I can't post links as a new user, but also, try searching the site "tv.com" - you might be surprised - it appears to link through to Amazon and you can pay to watch online apparently. Not a recommendation, I don't know that site but thought I'd search a bit for you0 -

You can't they haven't released all the seasons on DVD, any sites claiming to sell it are selling bootleg copies most likely recorded off TV.0 -
The reason only series 1 and 2 have been released is due to high music licensing costs according to wikipedia.0
