vin and chassis numbers tie up with watermarked and checked documentation. Not contacting garage directly as scam may well be originating from there. Will be onto vosa monday morning but would appreciate any constructive ideas.

I think the last two posters have read far too deeply into your comment!

Bottom line is, the garage has a fixed address. If you turn up a dodgy scam, the law will deal with it, otherwise consider that with some persuasion they may still rectify the problems. There's not much to do at this stage until you speak to VOSA.

I have no idea what any of this is about:

    You bought a car privately.
It looks to have been in an accident. (check if it's Cat C/D on Hpi - you did an Hpi check prior to purchase right?)
You want what exactly? Trading Standards? Any indication that the private seller was anything but a private seller?

IN short, it's your car and you need to fix it. I don't see how a front cross member could be damaged in an accident without other damage - Wings, front struts/suspension arms, bumpers.... how was the car crashed to do that damage is what I'd be interested in.

And as for the MOT date discrepancies, what do you think that is in relation to? The car has history which you say tallies.... Are we looking at there being a second car out there? could the MOT have been put through the computer at a later date? What do YOU think is going on there? I'd be very surprised if the Polcie have given you a crime reference number at this stage.
  • well the MOT discrepancy of the second time is a bit wier'd.

is it the same garage who tested it in april testing it again on 9/6?

check the direct gove websit mot history check again and look carefully at the person who carried out the mot, was it he who sold it to you for e.g
