So I had been thinking of sowing chocolates in to Christmas wrapping paper (in the shape of a stocking etc). But I've also remember this idea which I think would be super cute for kids.

I love Notmartha - last year I attempted to make these gingerbread cookies but unfortunately, they didn't work out very well http://www.notmartha.org/archives/2009/12/18/a-gingerbread-house-that-perches-on-the-rim-of-your-mug/

Has anyone seen if Card Factory have their Christmas cards and wrapping paper in yet?

They had their Christmas bags in about a month ago.... sorry, I haven't looked too closely since then:rotfl:

    I'm on this one now:

loving the two-tone effect and someone on netmums has recommended it. I'm definitely getting a sugar thermometer though, as I find fudge very hit and miss without it and I can't afford to waste the ingredients.
    I might also make these:

I managed to get a sugar thermometer for £1 in Wilkinsons at the beginning of August just before their refit (I don't really like the new up market Wilko, it is not as good as it was)
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Thankyou. :) No Wilkos anywhere near me sadly but I got a sugar thermometer with a survey voucher, haven't used it yet!

Yes it is fab. I made those gingerbread houses last Christmas but I upped the size ratio a bit to make little ginger bread houses (rather than ones up cups). They were fab! Made them for DD's Christmas party and her friends decorated one each. Much easier to make and keep together than a big one too!

  • rocky road bars are yum
but that recipe is a little expensive :o
    i use nigellas,
and instead of good chocolate use value, and i use value digestive biscuits instead of the tea biscuits
its still very nice, and costs a lot less
i fling in what ever i happen to have, raisins, cherries etc with the marshmallows

I'm blaming it on the fact that the mugs I used have too fat a rim ;)
