I think they will try and get me out but again where are they going to dump me. If things stay as they are it will be tight but I might be able to pay for the unused rooms but I really will be living a basic life. No luxuries...but I think some of my help will be stopped or reduced so I will be forced to go...

I'll wait and see what happens...no good worrying yet...

yeah aprils a while off yet.. a lot can happen.. i can just say afford to pay for it if im not working by then (which i hope i am).
got an AF order coming with loads of goodies even better when they released a 15% code for a couple of hours on friday :D

also i wouldnt be able to afford a 1 bed private rental either at £55 hb isnt enough.. this government has really got it in for the disabled and sick and those on beneifts..

Sadly, they all have and I cannot see an alternative...if this all gets passed and another party gets in they'll say we did not vote these laws in but now they have been passed we'll leave them in place...

At least the Lords tried to stop many of the changes but the numbers in the Commons and a bit of clever political footwork means they ignored the Lords and have gone ahead. They haven't even left it at the so called scroungers(You can question the stories put out by the media)that they always mention but as you said they've gone after the ill and disadvantaged too.

Remember the the statistic about those who get HB and the suggestion peple are not working? One in Eight aren't but that still means seven out of eight are working and probably in low paid work and that's why they are claiming HB.

Now if the employers would pay a decent living wage instead of it being topped up by the Government less would be needed for HB. And as you have said the private rental sector doesn't help.

Sorry if this seems off topic but I think it is relevent to a lot of the MSE website and especially the treads about trying to save money. Why we all come here...And I am not biased to a particular section of society, we're all going to be hit in some way.

mcjord, fancy having to live like this in the 21st century eh? It may depress me but I am going to look at that programme BB suggested later...

Well, some will say if you are poor why are you buying a lottery ticket but whilst I am able I buy the odd one...especially the Euro which is a big amount and only when it has not been won for a few weeks...If I did I have no family but I would think of some charities and people I know to be struggling but anyone who spends it immediately it won't last long. You let it build up and live off the interest.

People forget there is tax to be paid, isn't there always?

All I ask for is to be warm, eat well and be able to afford the electric and gas and afford the rent and council tax. And perhaps be ableto access a phone, the internet and pay for the tv license that's not much is it?

Of course if you won the lottery you could probably buy a propertyand forget about paying rent.

    We can dream...

    All the best to you...

Was in Asda this evening, around 9pm. It was far, far busier than usual with people filling their trolleys. I tend to go on a Monday evening because it is quieter.

    Flooding. Terror arrests. Crop shortages.

Gonna stock up on bog roll coz I am sh!tt!ing meself.

Try not to let it get you down too much - I must admit, I have episodes or paranoia due to this horrid situation.

On the upside - the local Co0p is doing packs of 9 loo roll for £2.79 - don't know if that is nationwide but worth a look if it has come to the point of sh!tt!ing oneself :rotfl:

Either that or the 'family cloth' :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I know loads of folk without a stock cupboard. Many people live from one week to the next on a very fixed budget, so they do a weekly shop, by the end of the week, they need to shop again and refill cupboards and freezers.

In fact there's a thread on here somewhere about living out of the freezer and cupboards ~ finishing the last three fish fingers, can of beans, half an onion etc.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

I am ok for a while and then I lose it for a bit but it is worry. But all may be well, then we'll say why have you worried or it will happen but as you cannot change things wait until it actually happens...

If the rolls are good, that's a bargain...it's a lot more but you use less, Wilkinsons are seling Regina 3ply(18 rolls for £6.15)but if you keep watching UI have seen them sell for as little as £4.25...

I believe it especially more so now I am alone due to the loss of my Mum...

Especially with the changes coming in...

Well, we know food banks exist already...it is serious...after all our store rooms are our version of a food bank...
