What do people here think of these channels and does anyone here regularly buy from them?? I know the postage charges are a bit extreme (£6.99 per item) but are the items generally cheaper than in the shops?

it pay to look aroudn
but you do get some bargains on here0 -
Just been given a set top box, and found price-drop and bidup. No idea if prices are good. I see it as a hard sell thing, with lots of hype hoping that people will be rushed into buying before it is 'too late' even though they 'relist' items frequently. It is hardly bidding when the price is predetermined by them, and not influenced by Buyers. I watch it from time to time just to see what they are selling, and how they hype it up.
Not only is there the fixed £6.99 P&P but also add the £1/call cost to your end price. I am told, but have no direct experience, that your call may get through, but because of traffic volume, you may have to call again. If this is not so, they still have a nice little earner on calls as well, especially when they have large numbers of the item on sale.si talia jungere possis sit tibi scire satis 0 -

I must admit we tend to only end up buying stuff from Bid-Up when we're drunk!!! Everything looks so much more attractive when you've had a few!
Some stuff is ok but sometimes the jewellery can be a bit 'clanky' if you know what I mean! They do have some real bargains though - just before Xmas I saw new xboxes going for about 45 quid!0 -
My friends buy a lot of stuff from there! My sis bought the towel bell and my other buddy bought the Elle Watch! they are both good value and are great! the watch was the same as one in the shop that cost £80 ! she got it for £20

I have bought a white towel bails! V good value at £25 - that good i bought another a few months later! They have washed well and lovely and fluffy! Have made a few impulse buys though - that essential table top bottle opener you just can't live without, the duvet set your life has been missing ect.. Did get V good wok with lid - it is the only pan i haven't been able to weld my food to! Non stick and a copper base. How did i ever cope without it! ??
Funny though, how everything always goes for around the same price each time..
Must admit it is an expensive channel to watch!0 -
Lets be honest. It is sh**e. Anyone with a tan wose than Bob Monkhouse and a smile worse than Carole Smiley is dodgey. I agree that their p&p is ridiculous. Got an item the other day (ordered at 1400) delivered by 1000 the next day with p&p £2!!!
