Antartica Itinery

Day 1

Arrival at the city of Punta Arenas, where you will be met by Antarctica XXI staff and transferred to the selected hotel. In the afternoon, instruction will be given in relation to the norms that should be followed in Antarctica and to the procedures of embarkation and disembarkation. Later, there will be a welcome dinner at the José Nogueira Hotel, a splendidly restored, centenary French-style mansion – one of the oldest buildings in Patagonia – where you will have the chance to meet your expedition companions.

Day 2

The Antarctic adventure will begin, with a flight from Punta Arenas to King George Island (South Shetland Islands), taking a little over three hours. Upon arrival, you will be able to tour around the area where the Presidente Eduardo Frei M. Chilean Base and Bellinghausen Russian Base are located, before gathering at the beach on Fildes Bay for embarkation, by Zodiac boats, to M/V Grigoriy Mikheev.

Days 3-6

As you cruise between the South Shetland Islands and the Peninsula, sailing along ice-filled fjords and between spectacular icebergs, you are likely to spot sea birds, penguins, seals and whales. Your journey toward the south may include visits to some of the most magnificent spots in the white continent such as: Hannah Point, Port Lockroy, Petermann Island, Paradise Bay, Cuverville and the Deception Islands, among others. Your adventure will be full, with daily landings and cruises in zodiacs boats, selected lectures and enjoyable time on board.

Day 7

Upon return to King George Island, you will disembark by Zodiac at Fildes Bay, by the Presidente Eduardo Frei M. Chilean Base, then head to the Teniente Marsh aerodrome for the flight back to Punta Arenas. Then fly north to Santiago to connect with your onward flight home
