A newbie question about Bupa health insurance?

Are you looking for actual medication etc or just a specialist to look at your GPs notes and come up with a diagnosis and recommend the best form of medication?
Ive highlighted recommend instead of saying pay for, for a reason.
I haven't ever come across a consultant just looking at notes and advising - they usually want to see the patient for themselves.0 -
We have been in the BUPA scheme for years paid for by my Husbands Company.
Hubby had a Hernia operation about 10 years ago and since last Sept 2011 I've had left and right total knee replacements.
The private Hospital was fantastic (more like a Hotel), I chose when I wanted the Op and the Theatre time, the Staff were fantastic......more like one to one nursing.....at outpatient clinics there was no waiting. I have nothing bad at all to say about my experience.....in fact my hubby went to see a Consultant there yesterday and he's booked in for a second Hernia operation on the 25th July.
Must name the Hospital because they were so good........................
