Giant cup cake help needed!

I'm making a giant cupcake for a friends birthday. Using a silicone mould and I'm confused about which recipe to use.
I've googled and found quite few recipes but they all seem to have very mixed reviews!
Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi
i would just upscale a basic sponge recipe to fit the mould
We do have one older thread although it doesn't have much input
This thread on scaling up recipes may be useful or our sponge cake thread
let us know how you get on and we will merge this later
ZipA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men
