Interesting. When I built our first house, the only help that I got was from a small book called "Build your own House". When I built the second one, I visited The Building Centre in London and bought several books on Building and Construction
As for getting the house you want, it is not as easy as all that. What we got, was mostly what the Planning Officer wanted. We did not feel inclined to fight it, as we were living in a grotty mobile home on the site at the time, and winter was approaching and we needed to get on. I am always pleased to share our experiences with anyone interested, although the passage of 35years have dimmed my memory.I can afford anything that I want.
