IVA Payoff Help.

Hi all,

I have posted this in the wrong part of the forum I think, been sent the link to this part to re-post.

I have been in my IVA for a little bit now and it has been a massive help to me.

I have contacted payplan today in regards to a possible early payment settlement, payplan have said that they cannot guide me on what to offer!? which I just don't understand. I was wondering if any of you would be able to advise what type of % I would need to offer as a settlement figure to have it accepted. She has just said as close the the new agreement figure as possible, which is not really doable for me as I still have £21k outstanding.

Bit of additional information I have recently found out I am pregnant. I will be on maternity leave from January next year which will affect my salary and therefore payments. They have advised that the will go through payments etc 3 months prior to my leave, I am just trying to look at all possibilities as I fear that I am going to struggle whilst on maternity.

Any advice that you can give me would be very appreciated.

Hi, firstly congratulation on the pregnancy, I hope everything goes smoothly.

Although I never got into my IVA in the end, I approached my creditors to offer partial settlements. In terms of %, you could offer as little as 50%.

A good angle is that a family member may be willing to put some money up... How much would you take? Normally via letter though.

Not sure if you're allowed to but you could approach creditors rather than your IVA people? Might save on fees there too.

Are you saying that you will be paying £21000 back over the course of your IVA?
