Can ATM Bank Charges be reclaimed?

I'm a poor student hoping to go to university next year. I don't get any income at present apart from a few quid now and then when I can get some babysitting work. I opened a bank account recently, both to keep safe the very little money I do have and in anticipation that I will no doubt need one next year. As I'm only 17…

Well I never did get a phone call, but picked up this text msg this morning.

Re £20 charge on your account, this appears to have been applied in error and has now been reversed. We have also applied an ex-gratia £100 credit for your inconvenience. We trust this meets with your approval.

Just checked online, and its already there :j

A phone call as promised to explain would have been nice though, rather than just a text.
