Kenwood microwave bubbled interior

Got a kenwood k25mss10 microwave 18 months ago. Last few weeks noticed that the ceiling inside the microwave looks as though its started to bubble and solidified. Almost like when lots of solder goes hard. I'm concerned that this shouldn't be happening and also concerned that if this is some sort of special protective coating does it mean the microwave is unsafe?
If its a defect then would I be within my rights to get it repaired or replaced? Got it from Currys with the standard 12 month warranty.
Thanks.
