Android calendar app

I cannot be the only person with this problem so, in the hope that someone has already solved it ............

I would like a calendar app for my android phone, but I work an 8 day rota, 2 days 2 evenings/nights and 4 off.

I cannot find any calendar app that allows me to input that easily, they all seem to have a repeat entry option daily, weekly or monthly, non of them seem able to repeat an entry every 8 days which leaves me having to input an entry for every day which is a pain so I haven't bothered.

Anyone know of an app, I don't mind paying for it, which will allow me to repeat an entry every 8 days?

I used Google Calendar for this to keep track of my shift pattern. I think I set it up on the computer (I have it integrated into my Thunderbird email app) and it's accessible from my smartphone. Maybe more options on the main program than on the smartphone app?

Might not be too robust if things change but I'd have thought most calendars could do this if you just set up 4 events, each repeated every 9 days. Assuming your first day shift is a Monday:

1. Day shift Monday: repeat daily, every 9 days
2. Day shift Tuesday: repeat daily, every 9 days
3. Night shift Wednesday: repeat daily, every 9 days
4. Night shift Thursday: repeat daily, every 9 days

That will get you day shift entries on day 1,2,9,10,... night shift entries on days 3,4,11,12,... and the blank days show you're off (or just repeat the above if you want to have day off entries)

The same shift pattern I do.

As above, set it up through Google calendar on your computer. Do each day/night in your first shift pattern with an 8 day repeat.

Once done, go to your calendar on your phone, go to settings and have it only use the calendar associated with your Google account.
Once you sync it, you should be sorted.

Works great on my SGS II using ICS.
