Lloyds Tsb PPI Claim form

Was just wondering if any lloyds tsb customers have gone down the route of using the PPI claim form on their website/

I took out a loan of 5k around 11 years ago, 1.5k loan in 2008 and 8k loan 3 years ago which i am currently paying off.

I have gone through my paperwork and the only info i can find is the loan agreement number for the last 2 (no details of the contract when sold the loans).

In a nutshell i have no idea if i was sold PPi on these, want to ring them up tomorrow to start proceedings for claims on all 3 but not sure what to say.

Is it as simple as ringing up and saying 'i have had 3 loans with you that i beleive i was wrongly sold ppi on and would like to make a claim?'

That would be a lie though. How can you make that allegation without even knowing that you had it? You are accusing a member of staff of wrong doing. They may well have done. But you are jumping to complaint and making accusations which may or may not be true.

What would your complaint reasons actually be, considering you dont even know if you have it and therefore cannot recall anything said or done?

So how do i go about this?

Do i ring them up and ask for copies of the agreements for the 3 loans?

Phone them up and ask them if you had PPI on them. Many will tell you straight over the phone. Some may required you to dig deeper and do a Data subject access request as they cant find info and it may take a bit more digging.

Once you know if you have PPI or not then you can decide if you have any reason to complain about it and what those complaint reasons will be. Having PPI is not a complaint reason. It is not about the product. It is about how it was sold or set up. If you were eligible to claim or had a financial need etc. The MSE article on it should give you a good guide
