Hello pingu
I'll move your thread to the 'Home Phones' board.
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email !!!!!!.

I've bought DECT phones for myself and various relatives in recent years and, biding my time, I usually get a bargain on ebay.looking to buy a decent phone with caller display(never thought needed one but do now!)

Even going only for 'buy it now' on ebay, you'll quite easily pick up a DECT phone with answering machine for £20 or less (delivered).
If you're willing to take a chance on auction items, you'll probably get something a lot cheaper (my best - in late 2005 - was £1.71 + £5.95 delivery for a twin DECT with answering machine).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
