We usually check the address the CHB is paid to if the issue arises, and it has!!

Although legally you cannot state a 'non-main' residence as your address for catchment purposes, in practice, it is very unlikely anyone would check unless the school was heavily over-subscribed. It's always possible somebody might 'complain' though!

Schools here are very well aware what addresses are used for short term lets for the purpose of getting a place and will visit if you've just moved into one they are aware of.
