Morgan Stanley

Does anybody know how long it takes for Morgan Stanley to come to a decision?

I filled in an application online on Saturday 10th March. I got a confirmation by email that the application was received.

I have heard nothing since.

I also notice that since last weekend their website hasn't taken any online applications?

It took me about a month from applying to getting my cards. I wasn't told whether I had been accepted, I had to phone to find out for myself, and the cards arrived about four weeks or longer from memory after I'd applied. Not the fastest operation in the world.

I might give them a ring, but it makes me feel better (the amount of times I receive other people's post in the morning, I sometimes wonder who is receiving mine).

I applied for a card on the 19 Feb, got the welcome letter on 26 Feb and the card a few days later I think. I didn't have to send any ID or anything. Since then I have done the BT with Egg Money, moved the money to Egg Savings, withdrawn to a current account, and then settled a loan with it. (Was all complete by Wednesday of this week).

So all in all I'm really happy with how quick everything has happened.

Jon - based on my experience then, you should be receiving an email or letter from them very soon.

  • Same here. They took ages to get back to me but once you're a customer i have found they have one of the best customer service departments.
Hope you hear back from them soon.

Thanks, the card (and pin????) arrived this morning.

I was half expecting them to decline me as I have no credit rating (GE Money declined me about 4 months ago).

My only purpose is to make sure I have a credit rating going forward, I will always pay it off in full with direct debit. For the last 10 years I have paid for everything with cash, and realised that if I need credit it might not be easy.
  • From on-line application to receiving the card it took nine weeks.
They then told me that my 3 month triple cash back period started on the day of on-line application. I argued and they agreed to start it from receipt of card.
They also wrongly calculated my cash back amount due.

I applied for mine on the 10th March had a phone call on 12th Asking a couple of questions and telling me the T&C's had changed so would need to sign some paperwork and send it back before I can get a card...

Still waiting for the paperwork, phoned up today, should be sent out tomorrow apparently, so there appears to be a delay for re-printing!
