Transferring to existing credit card?

I currently have an Egg card coming to the end of it's 0% term. I have forgotten to apply for a new card in time!!

I have a Tesco card with £0 balance currently. Will i be charged for transferring balance from Egg to Tesco and will i get 56 days interest free at Tesco whilst i apply for a new card?

Thanks
Filiss

You should read the Summary Box supplied with your credit card for the answer, or the full T&C if you don't have it.

Assuming your T&C are the same as the current Tesco offering then balance transfers are at 0% for the first few months after you get the card and there are no fees. However if that has expired then you will be charged interest from the date of the transfer. So no 56 day free period and unless the APR is better there is no advantage in transfering the money.
