in Credit cards
Hello, I need some advice badly!!
My fiance currently has 2 credit cards, one with £9k on it, the other with £3,500 and this is the limit. This debt was put on by a former girlfriend of his as she could never get credit. Nothing has been put on these cards in over 5 years, but yet he has been paying them without fail and the balance is pretty much the same. All he can afford every month is the minimum payment, which is only just about clearing the interest and so this is why the balance is still the same.
He pays approx £400 every month on these cards just on interest. he has approached the companies for help but they said the only way they can help is if he stops paying it, which he doesn't want to do. He has applied for crediit cards last year (June 2011) to try and transfer money over to them, but he couldn't get the cards.
A year later he wants to apply for balance transfers again to try and get some of the balance shifted, but he doesn't know where to start. he is becoming very depressed with the whole thing and so any help or advice would be much appreciated??

if £400 is only just clearing the interest then the apr`s must be high
with 12.5k of existing debt unless he has an income over 25k he wont get a new card or loan0
