I'm sure these guys already get overtime if they go over their allocated hours.
They're basically saying 'if you dont pay us more for doing our jobs, we're going to !!!! you over, because we can'
It's about time we started sacking unionised troublemakers en-masse. This isn't about rights, its pure exploitation of the public purse.0 -

yeah the argument for this action boils down to 'lots of other transport workers already managed to get their snouts in the olympic trough, so we want to as well'.
you would think that the unions would be prioritising the safeguarding of jobs in these uncertain times but as usual they seem more concerned with opportunistic money grabbing from the taxpayer via strike threats/action.'Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.'

people should pay tax, but a fair and reasonable amount. what is fair and reasonable is not necessarily what is set by the Govt.
if the Govt set tax collection at 90% from Monday, I suppose you would just pay it happily as that is now the new "fair"?0 -
I was listening to the R4 gloom-and-doom interview with the TUC earlier and wondering whether the mooted bonuses for the bus drivers etc were ever agreed?
Because public transport on this side of London (ie the Olympic Park) was no worse than the usual rush-hour over the games.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
