I have just bought an HP Laptop running Windows 7.

I can not see Outlook Express to collect my emails.

Can anyone please help?

Also my old laptop is just working and before it totally packs up I want to transfer my files over using my Network but the two computers wont recognise each other.

Outlook Express is no more. In Windows 7 it has become Windows Live Mail.

Version of Windows on the old PC?
How do I add a signature?

How do I use that - are emails stored elsewhere to my computer?

New emails are on the server so you will use Live mail to get those on your new laptop. You will have to set up Live Mal with your user details and password and point it at your email server.

You can copy this info from Outlook Express on your old PC

Your old emails will be on your old PC in Outlook Express, if you want to keep them you will need to transfer them with the other data from the old PC

One last question - have sign up for live mail hate it but like the speed to add email address no pops & smtps etc.

How do I select all emails and delete?

    Ctrl + a then Delete

Or click on the top email then hold down the shift key and click on the last email. This should select all of them. Hit the delete key.

Mozilla Thunderbird is an email client like Outlook Express, but much more reliable. Works a treat in Windows 7.

    Generic set-up instructions here

You should be able to copy the server pop/smtp details from your old OE account on your older PC.

Otherwise Google Btinternet Thunderbird set-up replacing BTinternet with your ISP.

Note: Windows Live Essentials (as it is now collectively known) is an optional download; Windows 7 has no default mail client. Microsoft also provides their own email service which unfortunately was once branded with a very similar name.

Make sure you've got the right one.
